    Virupaksha Nath

Virupaksha Nath (c. 12th–13th century CE) was a Nath tradition yogi and one of the prominent successors of Gorakshanath in the Nath lineage.

    Background

Virupaksha Nath was a direct disciple of Gorakshanath and was entrusted with the spread of Nath teachings in the Deccan region of India. He established Nath centers and trained numerous disciples.

    Spiritual Contribution

Virupaksha Nath is credited with systematizing certain hatha yoga techniques and with establishing the Nath tradition’s presence in the southern regions of India.
