    Naganath

Naganath is counted among the nine masters of the Navnath Sampradaya in the traditional Nath genealogies.

    Tradition/Life

The Navnath accounts place Naganath within the Nath transmission descending from Matsyendranath and Gorakhnath. The hagiographies give him few narrative episodes; devotional lore associates him with serpent symbolism — the naga of his name — and with shrines in Maharashtra where his passage is remembered. These accounts belong to the sampradaya’s own literature.

    Teachings/Works

No works are attributed to him. Within the tradition he stands as a lineage holder of the Nath yogic transmission.

    Legacy

His name appears in the Navnath recitations and in the iconography of the nine masters; Nath maths in Maharashtra and neighbouring regions preserve his memory.
