Kalarsinga Nayanar
Kalarsinga Nayanar is the bell-ringer of the canon — the devotee whose service was the temple’s sound, kept true through poverty and age.
Life/Legend
The hagiography relates that Kalarsinga served his shrine by sounding the bell for the hours of worship; when means and strength failed, the tradition says he rang until his last breath, and the god received the sound as the rite itself. The tale is the canon’s emblem of the small office held sacred.
Legacy
Temple bell-keepers claim his patronage; his story anchors the dignity of the liturgy’s humble tasks.
