Jalandharnath
Jalandharnath is one of the nine masters of the Navnath Sampradaya in the traditional Nath lists. He is associated with the region of Jalandhar in the Punjab, whose name the tradition connects to him.
Tradition/Life
The hagiographies place Jalandharnath within Matsyendranath’s circle of adepts as a receiver of the yogic transmission that became the Nath order. Popular accounts — the Navnath Bhaktisar among them — tell of his austerities and of miracles performed for devotees; these are devotional narratives without independent historical record.
Teachings/Works
No authenticated works are attributed to him. In the Navnath tradition he embodies the transmission of hatha yoga discipline within the line of the nine masters.
Legacy
Temples and maths associated with his name are found in Punjab and North India, and his image appears in Navnath iconographic sets. Devotees commemorate the nine masters in annual recitations.
