Gopal Bhatta Goswami (c. 1503–1579 CE) was a Gaudiya Vaishnava devotee and one of the six Goswamis of Vrindavan, known for establishing the Radha Raman temple and for his devotional writings.

    Background

Gopal Bhatta was born in Tamil Nadu and was initiated into Vaishnava worship before meeting Sri Chaitanya during the latter’s South Indian tour. He later joined Chaitanya at Puri and eventually settled in Vrindavan, where he became one of the six principal Goswamis.

    Spiritual Contribution

Gopal Bhatta is credited with establishing the worship of the Radha Raman deity in Vrindavan, one of the most important and beloved Krishna murtis in the tradition. He authored Sat Kriya Sara Dipika, a manual of Vaishnava rituals and sacraments, and contributed to the devotional and liturgical practices of the Gaudiya community in Vrindavan.

    Legacy and Impact

The Radha Raman temple, established by Gopal Bhatta, remains one of the most visited and revered temples in Vrindavan. His ritual manual became a standard reference for Gaudiya Vaishnava practice.
