    Charpatinath

Charpatinath is one of the nine masters of the Navnath Sampradaya, remembered in Nath legends of Maharashtra and North India.

    Tradition/Life

The Navnath lists count Charpatinath in the descent from Matsyendranath and Gorakhnath. The hagiographic literature relates episodes of his yoga and his protection of devotees; one cycle of tales associates him with royal courts and with the demonstration of yogic powers to sceptical kings. These are tradition narratives without independent documentation.

    Teachings/Works

No works are attributed to him. He embodies the itinerant yogic mastery celebrated in Nath lore.

    Legacy

His name appears in Navnath recitations and in the iconographic sets of the nine masters; regional maths preserve local legends of his passage.
