Sri Ram Chandra Mission
The Sri Ram Chandra Mission is the organization founded by Ram Chandra of Shahjahanpur (Babuji Maharaj, 1945) to teach the Sahaj Marg (“natural path”) system of raja yoga transmitted through pranahuti (yogic transmission).
Overview
Babuji (1899–1983), a disciple of the Fatehgarh master (the first Ram Chandra, “Lalaji”), systematized Sahaj Marg and founded the Mission (1945, Shahjahanpur); headquarters moved to Chennai under his successor Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari (Chariji, 1927–2014); the system’s practice spread to 100+ countries.
Core teachings
Pranahuti (the master’s transmission of divine energy into the seeker’s heart) as the path’s engine; cleaning (the daily removal of samskaric grossness) and meditation on the heart’s luminosity; the goal-orientation toward the “Center” (the ultimate state beyond light and bliss).
Practice and work
Morning meditation with transmission (through prefects and trainers), evening cleaning, and prayer-meditation at night (the nine pm universal prayer); ashrams and the constant-refresh curriculum; the SRCM (Shri Ram Chandra Mission) and the affiliated Heartfulness Institute (from 2000s — the contemporary public face under Kamlesh Patel, Daaji).
Modern status
The Heartfulness rebranding brought the practice into schools and corporate programs worldwide; the Mission’s organizational structure continues under Daaji.
