Osho International Foundation
The Osho International Foundation administers the legacy of the mystic Osho (Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, 1931–1990) — the Pune ashram (now Osho Meditation Resort), the vast recorded corpus, and the active-meditation techniques that spread worldwide.
Overview
Rajneesh’s Pune ashram (from 1974, at Koregaon Park) made active meditation — Dynamic, Kundalini, Nadabrahma among the signature techniques — and “sannyas” without renunciation (red-robed neo-sannyasins) a global phenomenon; after the Oregon commune’s collapse (1985) and Rajneesh’s return to Pune (his death 1990), the Foundation (Zurich-registered) manages the estate and trademarks.
Core teachings
Meditation as celebration: awareness through movement, catharsis, and silence; Zorba the Buddha (the fully alive and fully conscious human) as the ideal; rejection of organized religion and traditional morality in favor of direct experience.
Practice and work
The Pune resort’s daily meditation schedule and multiversity programs; publications (hundreds of discourse volumes — the largest single-teacher recorded corpus); OSHO meditation centers worldwide.
Modern status
Continues under the Foundation amid trademark litigation history (resolved in its favor on the works); the Pune resort remains a major spiritual-tourism destination.
