    Forearm Stand (Pincha Mayurasana Variation)

Forearm Stand is an inversion asana where the body balances on the forearms.

    Overview

Forearm Stand is a variation of Pincha Mayurasana that emphasizes the forearm balance without the characteristic backbend. The body forms a straight vertical line from forearms to feet.

    Method/Content

The forearms are placed parallel on the floor, shoulder-width apart, with elbows directly under the shoulders. From Downward Dog, one leg lifts and the practitioner kicks up into the balance. The body maintains a straight vertical line with the core engaged. The gaze is directed between the hands or slightly forward. Wall support is commonly used during the learning phase.

    Purpose/Benefits

Forearm Stand builds shoulder and core strength while developing balance and body awareness. It improves circulation and lymphatic flow. The pose builds confidence and mental focus.
