Anahata Chakra Dhyana (Heart Chakra Meditation)

Anahata Chakra Dhyanary/chakra) Dhyana is a meditation practice focused on the anahata (heart) chakra.

    Overview

Anahata, meaning “unstruck” or “infinite sound,” is the fourth primary chakra located at the center of the chest. It is associated with love, compassion, emotional balance, and the air element. This chakra governs the heart, lungs, and thymus gland and is considered the bridge between the lower (material) and higher (spiritual) chakras.

    Method/Content

The practitioner sits in a comfortable meditative posture with the spine erect and eyes closed. The attention is directed to the heart center, visualizing a twelve-petaled lotus in green or pink light. The practitioner may use the bija mantra “YAM” or simply rest in awareness of the heart space. The practice involves cultivating feelings of love, gratitude, and compassion while allowing any emotional blockages to release. The meditation may include the practice of metta (loving-kindness) directed toward self and others.

    Purpose/Benefits

Anahata Chakra meditation opens the heart to love and compassion, promotes emotional healing, and fosters inner peace. It is believed to balance the heart and lungs, strengthen the immune system, and enhance the capacity for empathy and connection. Regular practice is said to dissolve emotional armor, heal past wounds, and cultivate unconditional love for self and others.

    Verification Notes
